Child Protection

Reformation Foundation Uganda has witnessed great impact on communities through projects done in its different initiatives. Women Empowerment: we believe that women have the ability and level of intelligence as men. We focus on phasing out the men superiority complex stereotype. We continuously seek to empower women through hands on skill training in different income generating activities, which include tailoring, Hair and makeup dressing, pedicure and manicure, soap making, recycling, livestock farming, carpentry and joinery, Plumbing, electricity connection, construction. For a 360 community transformation women are the significant part of the jig saw. Take for example 90% of the Ugandan communities are taken care of women. Though they are poor and despised by absentee men they still take care of their families. At reformation we believe by empowering women we will bolster both economic and social development. In that effect we have trained a number of women who subsequently started earning, became their own bosses and employed others. Foster Families and Education: All the foster families have to do is provide love, sense of belonging and emotional support. To take care of the child’s education needs we negotiate with local public schools to enroll these children at subsidized cost and so far we have been able to help connect 150 children to foster families and schools. Child Protection: we have successfully carried out 60 child protection training sessions. This accounts for 400 children care givers in Wakiso district. With the right support we are aiming at doing these trainings throughout the country and create child protection committees to ensure child protection is at the forefront in every district across the country. Community Seed Projects and Environment Preservation: As we aim at creating long term solution to the poverty and driving communities towards social economic development we find that their immediate needs in our communities that cannot wait. We normally mobilize basic supplies and give as much help as we can afford to those desperately in need in our societies. In these community project we make sure we teach people to love taking care of their environment.
